Alwaght- Syrian forces have downed an Israeli spy drone in the Golan Heights moments after it violated the Syrian airspace.
Syrian media reports indicate that the Skylark drone, was downed close to the southeastern province of Quneitra in the Syrian Golan Heights. The Israeli regime military has confirmed that the drone was brought down.
Hezbollah’s Al Manar TV has posted images on the downed Israeli regime drone on its website.
The Skylars, is a miniature surveillance drone that can be launched by one or two people, depending on the model, and once airborne, provides a live video feed to the base on the ground.
This latest incident comes after the Syrian army announced in a statement that Israeli fighter jets “penetrated” Syrian airspace via Lebanese territory and “hit a military target on the way to Palmyra” last Friday. The statement added that the army's air defense shot down one of the aircraft and hit another.
Following the incident, Israel's war Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned Syria not to repeat attempts to shoot down the regime’s bombers.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has summoned the Israeli regime’s ambassador in Moscow to demand explanations after Tel Aviv’s airstrikes inside Syria.
