Terrorists Shell Russian Embassy Complex in Damascus

Alwaght- Terrorists shelled the Russian Embassy building in Damascus on Sunday, causing minimal damage.

Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Kinshchak said in a statement that one of the buildings of the Russian Embassy was shelled by the armed groups as the windows of the building were shattered.

Ambassador Kinshchak clarified that the building is not currently used by the staff of the embassy as it is close to the areas which are under the control of the armed groups, affirming that the embassy is concerned with preserving the safety of its staff.

Terrorists have repeatedly tried to attack with mortars Al-Mazraa district in Damascus, where the Russian embassy is located.

Russian air force fighters have been striking armed terrorists across Syria, including ISIS and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham terror groups, at the official request of the government of President Bashar al-Assad since September 30, 2015. Russia's aerial campaign in Syria against positions of foreign-backed terrorists has been highly effective.
