Alwaght- The Saudi jets sent to bombard Yemeni targets mistakenly targeted Riyadh’s army troops killing ten soldiers.
Warplanes meant to hit north Yemen, targeted the Saudi Malhamah base in the al-Khobe areas of Jizan, located 967 kilometers southwest of capital, Riyadh, al-Masirah TV reprted.
The military source speaking on the condition of anonymity told the Yemen-Based TV channel that 15 soldiers were also injured under friendly fire.
Other Saudi warplanes, however, carried out airstrikes against residential targets in Yemen’s mountainous northwestern province of Sa’ada, injuring two farmers on Tuesday.
Saudi warplanes also carried out a raft of airstrikes against the Kahlan military base and the Razih district in the same Yemeni province. There were no immediate reports of casualties and damage available.
On April 19, Reuters cited unnamed diplomats as saying that around 400 Saudi soldiers and border guards had died ever since Saudi Arabia started the war against Yemen. Saudi military officials say that they will not release figures on the number of military casualties until after the onslaught is over, according to the report.
