Alwaght- Syrian army announced on Friday that ISIS Takfiri terrorists have been completely eliminated in Hama and Aleppo provinces following successful operations.
The General Command of the Syrian Army announced that in cooperation with allied forces, a large number of towns, villages, and farms in the countryside of Hama, Idleb, and Aleppo have been liberated. Additionally, many terrorists have been killed while their weapons and bases have been destroyed.
The General Command said that after a series of successful operations, Syrian Army units eliminated a large number of terrorists, most of them of foreign nationals, in the countryside of Hama, Aleppo and Idlib, destroying the terrorist organizations’ headquarters, positions, and heavy weapons including car bombs, and seized armored vehicles, tanks, rocket launchers, and large quantities of weapons and ammunition.
The Command said that engineering units were dismantling landmines and explosives planted by the terrorists in the liberated areas.
The statement underlined the strategic importance of this achievement, which lies in the fact that it puts an end to the existence of ISIS terror group in the provinces of Hama and Aleppo, and eliminates most of al-Nusra Front terrorists in the southern countryside of Aleppo. The General Command concluded by asserting that the Syrian Arab army is determined to continue its military operations against terrorist organizations until security and stability are restored across Syria.
Syrian forces are engaged in intensive operations to wipe out remnants of terrorists in many parts of the country after a successful offensive to retake all territories previously occupied by ISIS terrorist group in the country. Syria has been gripped by a foreign-backed insurgency since 2011 which has led to the killing of hundreds of thousands of civilians and displacing of millions.
