Alwaght- Saudi Arabia is working directly with the Israeli regime to counter the Islamic Republic of Iran, CIA director Mike Pompeo said during the Reagan National Defense Forum in the US state of California on Saturday.
The top US spy said Saudi Arabia had grown more willing to share intelligence with other West Asian nations regarding Iran.
"We've seen them (Saudis) work with the Israelis to the extent we can continue to develop those relationships and work alongside them - the Persian Gulf states and broader Middle East will likely be more secure," said Pompeo.
"You need to only look to the past few weeks and the efforts of the Iranians to exert influence now in Northern Iraq in addition to other places in Iraq to see that Iranian efforts to be the hegemonic power throughout the Middle East (West Asia) continues to increase," Pompeo said.
Last month Israeli regime's Chief of Staff of military said Tel Aviv is ready to share intelligence with Saudi Arabia to confront Islamic Republic of Iran.
In an interview with the Saudi-owned Elaph online newspaper, Lieutenant General Gadi Eizenkot accused Iran of being the "biggest threat to the region” and was seeking “to take control of the Middle East.”
The Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir is also reported to have written a confidential letter to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, putting forward a plan to normalize ties with Israeli regime.
