Alwaght- Informed sources told SANA Saturday that the Israeli enemy launched at 12, 30 am (local time) a number of ground-to-ground missiles against one of the military sites in Damascus countryside, adding that the Syrian air defense intercepted them and destroyed two of them.
The Israeli aggression caused material damage to the site, according to the sources.
On September 7, at least two Syrian soldiers were killed after Israeli fighter jets targeted an army position in the west-central province of Hama, just days after the Syrian army broke the siege imposed by the ISIS terrorist group on the eastern city of Dayr al-Zawr.
On several occasions, the Syrian army has also confiscated Israeli-made arms and military equipment from terrorists fighting the government forces. Israel has also been providing medical treatment to the extremist militants wounded in Syria.
On October 16th, the army Air Defense intercepted Israeli aircrafts which penetrated the Syrian airspace near the Lebanese borders and directly hit one of them.
The Israeli entity is closely linked to the terrorist organizations in Syria. The army has repeatedly found Israeli weapons inside the terrorists’ hideouts, particularly in Jub al-Jarrah, al-Mayadeen and Khan al-Sheeh areas.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry meanwhile sent two letters to the UN, urging the international body to condemn a recent Israeli air strike on a copper factory in the province of Homs.
The airstrikes were carried out late Wednesday, when Israeli warplanes targeted a copper plant in the Hassia industrial area some 35 kilometers (21 miles) south of the city of Homs. There was no information on casualties or destruction officially available.
“This new Israeli aggression is proof that the Israeli occupation authorities are not satisfied with their practice of state terrorism against the Arab population in occupied Palestine, Syria and Lebanon, but are seeking the role of an official sponsor of terrorism,” SANA news agency cited the Ministry as saying.
